Want a totally safe tan?
June 20, 2006
Hi

How are you?

Want a totally safe tan? Is there such a thing?

I have very fair skin. I love my skin now… but that wasn’t always the case. There was a time when getting a tan was more important to me than looking after my skin… and I didn’t even tan well. So of course, now that I am in my early 30s I have quite a bit of sun damage I wish I could reverse!!

Even so, I still really love the look of a great tan. So is it possible to add a few shades to your skin without harmful chemicals or damaging sun rays?

I believe there is… try this out

Make a cup of very strong black tea (preferably with tea leaves)

Let it steep until it cools

Strain out the tea leaves

Using a flat paint brush, paint it onto your skin

Repeat, letting each coat dry before applying the next, until you have your desired depth of color

I was really surprised by the natural color that the tea created and it soaks in and gives a really even coverage. It won’t last in the water but it’s natural, odourless, inexpensive and so easy. It’s well worth a try.

All I can do is dream of Summer at the moment. Here in Melbourne, Australia we are shivering in the middle of a very cold Winter but hey, it’s a great ski season this year!!!

Wherever you are, enjoy the season.

Wishing you bliss filled days; sun, rain or snow!

Kellie
