do you need a little pampering?
December 19, 2007
Hi

Do you need a little pampering? With these simple tips you can, even at this busy time of the year!

Spa Style Shower - Drop some essential oils onto a wet face cloth and drop it onto the floor of the shower. Turn on the hot water and let the steam carry the vapours upwards so that you can inhale their healing aroma. Adjust the water to warm and step in. Rosemary, Lemon, Lime or Eucalyptus are wonderful pick me ups for the morning.

Self Massage - Add a few drops to a carrier or base oil and massage into your skin each morning - even if it is just your legs, it is a delicious treat and a great investment in your wellbeing. Use 1 teaspoon with 2 or 3 drops of essential oils if you are small, 2 teaspoons with 5 drops of essential oils if you are medium to large. You should not need to wipe your body with a towel but may want to do the rest of your beauty routine in a robe to give the oils a few minutes to fully absorb.

Footbath - When you sit down at night after an especially long day use the opportunity for a relaxing footbath. Just a towel,a small tub of warm water and 3 or 4 drops of essential oils like lavender or peppermint will do it. Disperse the oils well by swishing your hand around in the water before you put your feet in.

There are many opportunitites throughout the day to enjoy the healing benefits of essential oils. When you're heading out for the morning crawl/commute to work add some drops to a tissue to inhale in the car when you need to.

Vaporise oils at the office or at home for a clear mind and improved concentration.

Wear a few drops of lavender instead of perfume to calm your nerves.

For a suitable base oil for self massage you could use a mix of any of the following; almond, jojoba, macadamia or evening primrose oil. I love evening primrose or jojoba on their own for the face as they are so light.

So no excuses, fit at least a little pampering into each day, just for you. The healing benefits and feelings of wellbeing are worth the tiny extra effort.

Be Blissed and happy holidays!

Kellie
