When we think of taking time out for relaxation at home we are usually drawn to the bathroom. Just the simple act of running a bath can bring a sense of relaxation. Add some candles and soft music and we’re halfway to heaven. It is from this simple pleasure that the spa industry was born. Take notes and have a blissful spa adventure at home.
Dry brushing Brush your body with small circular motions starting from the feet and working up. Use a soft bristle brush, dry hand towel or loofah. Shower Take a quick shower so that your skin is ready to benefit from any oils or herbs you add to your bath. Light some candles Play relaxation or soft music Place a small stool nearby A place to rest your book and drink.

Bath RecipesCleopatra Milk Bath 2 Litres of milk (non-fat for oily skin) 3 teaspoons of honey 10 drops of essential oils added to Mix all together and run it under the tap to disperse.
Add rose petals for the most beautiful looking bath! Hop in and enjoy!
Tropical Oasis 2 cups of coconut milk 3 drops each of tangerine and ylang ylang Freshly picked flowers of your choice Combine oils with milk and add to bath water. Add flowers, hop in and indulge your senses.
Herbal Heaven Bath Tea Bag
In a small muslin bag add a handful of your preferred blend of dried herbs;
NB: If you don’t have any muslin just add your herbs to a bowl, add 3 cups of boiling water, cover and let it steep for 5 minutes then add it to your bath.
Some suggestions;
Peppermint, echinacea and lavender
Oats, chamomile and calendula
Lemon grass and green tea
Peppermint, green tea and rosemary
Place it in your bath, hop in and relax.
Vanilla Rose 4 vanilla pod seeds 2 handfuls of rose petals Place vanilla into the bath and scatter petals across the surface. Indulge!
Sleepy Time 1 tablespoon of sweet almond oil or any carrier oil 5 drops of lavender essential oil Combine oils and add to bath water.
1 cup of seaweed (kelp, dulse or nori) To buy seaweed try seaveg.com you can get enough seaweed for about 4 or 5 baths for around $18.00. 1 tablespoon carrier oil 3 drops of Juniper essential oil 3 drops of Lemon essential oil Make the bath very hot. As the water is running add your seaweed. Let it steep. Mix your carrier oil and essential oils together. When your bath is cool enough to enter add your oils. Soak for at least 20 minutes. While you are soaking massage you body with the seaweed. Afterwards drink lots of water and relax. Do this slimming and detoxifying bath once a week for 1 month for best results.
A relaxing bath is not only a beautiful pampering it’s good for your health as well. So make sure you indulge… often!
