Spa Style Pedicure

Pampering Pedicure

The Basics

Soak feet Trim nails

Apply a foot scrub

Apply a foot balm

Apply polish


The Soak

Hot rock treat for faithful feet

2 tbs carrier oil

5 drops of rosemary essential oil

5 drops of peppermint essential oil

Smooth stones 4 – 6cm in diameter

Pour hot water over stones. Wait until temperature is comfortable. Add oil and submerge your feet for 10 minutes rubbing your soles on the stones.


Trim Nails

Cut nails straight across and then file to smooth edges

Push cuticles back with an orange stick covered with a cotton ball

With a fine file buff out any ridges on the surface of each nail


Foot scrub

1 tablespoon of sea salt

1 tablespoon of olive oil

Mix together and scrub feet and calves with small circular movements

Rinse off scrub


Foot balm

1 tablespoon of sweet almond oil

3 drops of peppermint essential oil

Combine oils and apply to feet and calves. Give yourself a massage

Wrap your lower legs and feet in plastic and allow the oil to absorb for 15 minutes.

If you feel like a real pampering, have a towel warming in the clothes dryer and wrap it around your feet over your socks while you relax.


Painted nails

Remove oil from nails with a little nail polish remover

Apply a base coat

Apply two coats of color letting each coat dry before applying the next. Start by applying a stroke of nail polish along the centre of the nail from base to tip, then along each side of the nail. Apply the nail polish quickly with long light strokes.

Finish with a top coat to prevent chipping

Soak your feet regularly

Avoid backless shoes

Give your nails a breather from nail polish every now and then

For really cracked dry skin soak your feet in warm olive oil for 20 minutes

Pumice, moisturize and wear socks over your moisturizer to bed

Do not have a foot bath if you have varicose veins or hypertension
